How it works

Write it
Say what is happening right now — the job, the flat, the person, the thing you are worried about. Future you will not remember the details. That is the point.
Add photos and video
Up to 10 files. What your kitchen looked like, what your voice sounded like, who was at the table.
Seal it
Confirm your email and it locks. No edits, no peeking. It arrives in your inbox on the day you chose.
Not only for you
A capsule can be addressed to someone else.
A video for your daughter on the day she turns eighteen. A letter to the friend you are about to lose touch with. A note to the person you will marry, written before you met them.
They hear nothing until the day it lands — the surprise is most of the point. To keep that from being abused, we confirm your own email address before anything is scheduled, and every delivered capsule says plainly who wrote it and when.

The deal
What we promise, in plain words.
Free, with nothing to cancel
No payment, no subscription, no upsell at year three. If that ever has to change, existing capsules stay free.
No account to lose
No password, no login, no profile. You write, you confirm your email, you are done. Everything else happens through links we send you.
Sealed means sealed
Once confirmed, the letter cannot be edited — not by you, not by us. You can delete the whole capsule at any time, and deleting really deletes it.
We say what we keep
Photos and video stay online until 90 days after delivery, so save them when it arrives. The letter itself we keep indefinitely.
One honest caveat: twenty years is a long time for any website. We have built this so your capsule survives us changing email providers or hosts, but if Time Capsule Mail ever has to shut down, we will tell you and send everything back before the lights go out.
